Standard First Aid & CPR Courses

As a requirement for your Clinical Preparedness Permit (CPP) or Field Placement Clearance you are required to complete a Standard First Aid and CPR course.  Your program requirements will outline which courses you are required to complete and how frequently you need to re-certify for each course. Proof of certification for both these courses will be required for your clearance.

Standard First Aid With Healthcare Provider CPR (SFA HCP CPR)

The Standard First Aid with Health Care Provider (HCP) CPR course is taught to the Ontario Regulation 1101 and ILCOR guidelines.  This first aid course is a comprehensive two-day program.  As required by regulation, this First Aid course covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the management of other breathing, airway and circulation emergencies, as well as the control of bleeding, treating shock, stabilizing fractures and dislocations, head and spine injuries, and more.

This course includes Health Care Provider CPR which covers skills such as 1 and 2-rescuer adult, child and infant CPR, choking, including the use of barrier device mask, bag valve mask (BVM), and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

This is a two-day course.  The blended portion consists of one day online and one day of in-class practical. This course is valid for 3 years.

Concise Health Solutions can also offer an on-site course on either Standard First Aid with HCP CPR or HCP CPR taught by a certified instructor.

Standard First Aid With CPR-C (SFA CPR-C)

The Standard First Aid with CPR-C course is taught to the Ontario Regulation 1101 and ILCOR guidelines.  This first aid course is a comprehensive two-day program.  As required by regulation, this First Aid course covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the management of other breathing, airway and circulation emergencies, as well as the control of bleeding, treating shock, stabilizing fractures and dislocations, head and spine injuries, and more.

This course includes CPR-C which covers skills such as 1 rescuer adult, child and infant CPR, choking and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

This is a two-day course.  The blended portion consists of one day online and one day of in-class practical. This course is valid for 3 years.

You will be sent a link to the online portion of the SFA course. Please complete the online course as soon as you receive the link. The course may take you several hours to complete. You will need an 80% pass and will be required to bring your online test results to the in-person training session. In-person training will take place on campus at the posted location.

Healthcare Provider CPR (HCP CPR/BLS)

The Health Care Providers CPR (HCP CPR) or BLS teaches adult, child, and infant one and two-rescuer CPR techniques, for individuals who require CPR in the health care field. You will learn the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for adults, children, and infants (CPR) for one and two rescuers and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies as well as AED.

This is a six-hour course and needs to be completed yearly.

You will be sent a link to the online portion of the HCP CPR (BLS) course. Please complete the online course as soon as you receive the link. The course may take you several hours to complete. You will need an 80% pass and will be required to bring your online test results to the in-person training session. In-person training will take place at on campus at the posted location.
